Bitcoin appears to be stabilizing at a new price point.
The value of tokens on the public blockchain protocol reached a high of $1,039 today, continuing their recent run of stability. At press time, bitcoin has been trading above $1,000 since mid-day on 14th February, according to the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index (BPI).

Several Bitcoin Exchanges Suffer From Outages During Price Drop

Yesterday was not a good day for the bitcoin ecosystem, that much is certain. Not only did the PBOC impose new AML regulation on Chinese exchanges, but several exchange platforms experienced outages as well. To some people, this looks like one big conspiracy to avoid significant financial losses when the price crashes. It is rather unusual to see so many bitcoin exchange platforms suffer from issues on the same day, though.


China Fears Spread Beyond Bitcoin As Crypto Markets Slide

The digital currency markets experienced widespread price declines today, as concerns surrounding the latest developments in China motivated many traders to sell off not only bitcoin, but alternative digital assets.
The development follows the PBoC's announcement today that it warned several domestic exchange operators that they must comply with regulations or risk being shut down. Traders also received startling news from major operations Huobi and OKCoin that, effective immediately, they would suspend bitcoin withdrawals for one month.

China's Bitcoin Exchanges Impose Fees Following Central Bank Meeting

The era of no-fee trading in China appears to be over.
Following in the footsteps of China's 'Big Three' exchanges, smaller competitors BTC Trade, BTC100CHBTC, DahonghuoYuanbao and BitBays all moved to impose or increase trading fees yesterday in the wake of a meeting with the People's Bank of China, China's central bank.

Two of China's Biggest Exchanges Stop Bitcoin Withdrawals

UPDATE (9th February 16:22 BST): This article has been updated with new information regarding BTCC’s bitcoin and litecoin withdrawal policy.

Two of China's most widely used bitcoin exchanges have announced that they will suspend bitcoin and litecoin withdrawals for one month effective immediately.

Yuan recharge, withdrawals and other services will not be affected, the exchanges said.
